Is media no more fourth Pillar of Democracy?

With increase of information and opinion-bombardment, the role of media as a watchdog for the democracy is changing. More so, majority of the media groups are owned by big businesses or party leaders, which reflect their ideology or motives. Free media which gives transparent information and news is guarantee of democracy, is it no more playing the role it supposed to do?
