Can racism ever be justifiable?

For most people, the gut reaction to this question is immediate: "Of course not!" But there are fringe examples, such as Israeli airport security, where blatant racial stereotyping is used, can be justified by the great safety that the airport provides to passengers. But still, can it be justified?
