I'm a linear construction manager, and a woman. I've managed hundreds of linear construction projects. I've worked with engineers of every type, and on bridges, highways, and varying civil work. I can tell you that it is unequivocally flat, and the 8" per mile squared of drop is preposterous, in that NOT A SINGLE project, regardless of the linear mile (Railroad, Utility, Bridge) ever factor this imaginary factor into structural or other engineering.
