**No one will ever truly know what happened to Amelia Earhart - and that's fine**
As humans, we have a thirst to know the unknowable, trying to defy logic to search out the truth. But, sometimes, that really is just impossible. One of those times is in the case of Amelia Earhart's disappearance:
- The theory that Earhart died on Nikumaroro, although [heavily investigated by historians](https://mashable.com/article/amelia-earhart-castaway-theory), is just that - a *theory*
- Furthermore, it is only one of *many* theories about Earhart's disappearance, as there is [no real consensus as to what actually happened to her](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-04-27/the-five-main-theories-behind-the-amelia-earhart-mystery/11046462)
- Pondering Earhart's disappearance will only provoke the most zany of [conspiracy theorists](https://www.insider.com/amelia-earhart-conspiracy-theories-2018-5) to offer their perspectives, which aren't always useful
Maybe one day, an extraordinary discovery will reveal the hidden piece of the world's most unsolvable puzzle. But, realistically, that's incredibly unlikely. Maybe some things just aren't for us to know.
