Climate tin foil advocates have been proved wrong over and over. If we need to address something, we should talk about pollution and species extinction.

And stop accusing the 1st world for this, go to Africa and Asia and see how much these people pollute and how many more they are than us.

Could very well be something to it, but bear in mind that government-funded studies will absolutely be biased towards coming to results that the government needs to take more of our money to "fight" the issue.

Approach combatting climate change from a perspective that bears this in mind: take steps to address climate change in ways that don't allow the government to further infringe upon the freedom and liberty we have left.

Once you do that, you'll find a lot of people who used to oppose you will be willing to join in!

TL;DR- The evidence of climate change is abundant.

If we continue to dismiss climate change, a few of the graduated impacts waiting to usher us into 2100 include:

→ An ice free Arctic. We are currently losing 1.2 trillion tons of ice each year.

→ China, Egypt, Japan, USA, and Brazil all have land that will be engulfed by the rising sea level. Since 1880, an average of 8 inches of land has been lost to the ocean, 3 of those inches in the last 25 years.

→ All coral reefs will be dead. Since the industrial revolution, the ocean has experienced a 30% increase in acidity. This increase throws the pH balance off and causes shell dissolution and coral bleaching.

→ Habitually extreme heatwaves. The National Weather Service classifies heat waves as being the deadliest weather phenomenon in U.S. history within the last 30 years.

→ The rate of flooding will increase to three times higher than the national average. Warm air increases precipitation. This causes our atmosphere to retain a larger amount of water vapor, producing more rain and snow that subsequently leads to more flooding.

We can no longer agree to disagree on this issue. Our window of opportunity to slow the degradation caused by climate change is shrinking. There is substantial, undeniable evidence making it explicitly clear, climate change is real.

On a personal note, this is the only article I've yet come across that swayed a longtime climate change denier. While the article didn't specifically assuage his curiosity on the data front, he assured me he now sees it's possible to reconstruct with near certainty the deep past's climates.

There is conclusive evidence that climate change is real

• Scientists were first alerted to climate change cause by C02 emissions in the early 19th century , with more widespread knowledge and the investigation of it emerging in the 1970s , but yet we have carried along the same polluting trajectory
• Scientists have produced paper after paper highlighting evidence for climate change for years but yet they have not been taken seriously, we are already seeing disastrous impacts of climate change with an increase in extreme weather events and rising sea levels that will destroy many peoples homes and create millions of environmental refugees

The overwhelming consensus of scientific research confirms that climate change is real and observable. Measurements of global temperature rise, melting glaciers, rising sea levels, and increased frequency of extreme weather events provide clear evidence. Denying this reality ignores robust empirical data and the urgent need to address its impacts on ecosystems, economies, and human lives.
