**The view that someone is the 'greatest of all time' at something is a matter of perception.**
- According to a study by [a maths professor] (https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/16074996/cristiano-ronaldo-all-time-messi-maradona/), Ronaldo is the greatest football player of all time, based on statistics. But statistics don't necessarily equal greatness. Especially when we're talking about 'of all time'.
- I think greatness has a lot more to do with personal perception & belief. Current football fans may believe/perceive Ronaldo to be the greatest of all time, but it's likely that older generations had their own GOATs who they grew up supporting.

We don't know how much of time we have experienced... (semantic argument) so to say he is the greatest of all time when football is still happening and the standard of elite football has been increasing is impossible to say. I would say he is the greatest up to this point in time but I can't predict the future so I cannot say if he is the greatest of all time.
