I don't know what Trump is like in his personal life, but in public life he engages in abusive behavior which has degraded American public life. Particularly, I have noted that Trump gaslights his audiences a lot. He will tell blatant lies and then deny that he has told them, belittle the intelligence of people around him, in particular fellow politicians and adversaries, and he will deny basic facts while praising his audience.

This behavior has contributed to an America that lives in two realities - the reality crafted by Trump and the reality crafted by logic and observable fact. This has led to the degradation of public life in America and the degradation of democratic practices.
