**TL;DR** — **The sheer eccentricity of Trump and his actions does little to discourage the notion that there is something wrong with Trump.** Even as he settled into the Oval Office in 2017, there were rumblings that Trump was not mentally fit to be president. If these suggestions were coming from Democrats and Trump critics, they could easily be dismissed as attempts to deride and denigrate him. Lee published the _The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump_, in which contributors examine Trump’s behaviour. What they concluded was that Trump’s behaviour was “consistent with symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder, sociopathy and other maladies.” These views [resurfaced] (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-shared-psychosis-of-donald-trump-and-his-loyalists/) following the insurrection at the U.S Capitol on January 6 2021. The intervening 4 years did little to change the initial ‘diagnosis’ but rather served to reaffirm the psychiatrists’ conclusions. He demonstrated narcissistic, psychotic and destructive personality traits, all of which point to a mental illness. All this said, without a psychiatrist having full access to Trump, a proper diagnosis is impossible. What can be said with greater confidence is that Trump’s behaviour is somewhat symptomatic of certain mental illnesses. I have consciously not brought up Mary Trump’s book _Too Much and Never Enough_ for the very reason that it is strongly coloured by the author’s relationship with Trump. This is not intended to knock Mary Trump’s abilities as a psychologist, but rather look to make a judgment on Trump’s mental health with the help of less partisan sources.

Aren't we all? Just because you're an egotistical, spoiled, bratty, entitled, prejudiced, unintelligent, rude person doesn't mean you're mentally ill. I'm not interested in blaming his actions on something he can't control. Yes he can.
