TL;DR - The product does not match the hype
Let's begin this by saying that this is not an indictment against Haribo. They are perfectly nice sweets and by no means do they deserve damning criticism. However, this does mean that the products are flawless. It seems a bit of a stupid criticism of sweets, but Haribo can be excessively sweet to such an extent that they leave with almost a squeaky feel (weird description I know but I can't think how else to put it). Likewise, the [Haribo collection of products] (https://www.haribo.com/en-gb/products/haribo) is diverse but only a few (Starmix, Tangfastics and GoldBears) are readily available. This would suggest that, despite their reputation, the full Haribo roster in not overly popular. They are held up by a few favourites but the other products are lacking.
