**TL;DR** - **Kane has already established himself as Spurs' best player.** For any Arsenal fan reading this, the idea that Tottenham can even have a ‘greatest player’ is absurd. Think Jack Wilshere’s chant after the FA Cup win in 2015. Arsenal and Jack Wilshere aside, Tottenham has had some stellar players over the years, such as Gary Lineker, Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne, Ledley King and Gareth Bale to name a few. Harry Kane, however, is in a prime position to be the best player Tottenham has ever had. By the statistics alone, Kane has had an incredible career thus far. In 328 games for Spurs, Kane has scored 217 goals (second only to Jimmy Greaves’s 266) whilst contributing 46 assists. The goals themselves are impressive but Kane is developing into more than just a goal scorer. This season in the Premier League, he leads the league with 13 assists, ahead of assist kings Bruno Fernandes and Kevin De Bruyne. At the same time, Kane is also leading the race for the Golden Boot, an award he won in 2015/16 and 2016/17. The loyalty Kane has shown to Spurs also gives the edge in the argument for being Spurs greatest ever player. Although he has benefitted from playing alongside Son Heung-min, Kane has almost singlehandedly driven Spurs to recent success. The last few years have seen some of the best teams in Premier League history in Manchester City (2017-19 and the 2020/21 team) and Liverpool (2018-20). During this time, Spurs have played in the Champions League 4 times, including scoring 5 goals en route to the 2018/19 final where they fell to Liverpool. Ultimately, Kane’s Spurs legacy will either be tarnished or bolstered by trophies. If he can guide Spurs to a trophy, then his legacy will be further cemented. If he is unable to do so, and this will be the fault of the team, not Kane, he will still leave Spurs as likely their greatest ever goalscorer and a club legend.
