While homeopathics have seen [some successes](https://www.takingcharge.csh.umn.edu/explore-healing-practices/homeopathy/-there-good-scientific-evidence-homeopathy), the uses—even discounting the lack of robust data—are limited. The use of homeopathy as a replacement for modern medicine, particularly in cases of more serious health issues, is incredibly dangerous; most data show that homeopathics [function similarly to placebos](https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/hsc.12681). Furthermore, homeopathy may present _active_ medical risks (aside from the _passive_ danger of forgoing proper treatment), with the [potential for overdose](https://www.forbes.com/sites/victoriaforster/2021/06/01/man-hospitalized-after-overdosing-on-homeopathic-remedy/). Altogether, individuals are wasting their money (the actual homeopathic medicine is very inexpensive compared to standard medicine, but seeing homeopathic doctors is still [very costly](https://homeopathic.com/how-much-does-professional-homeopathic-care-cost/)) and risking their health by opting for homeopathic treatment over well-tested and modern medicine.

I only partially disagree. People will dismiss it as the "placebo effect". But the placebo effect is not a dismissal. It is a real thing. Placebos can work for a decent number of ailments. That said, selling water diluted in water in a solution with water for 50 bucks is a scam. A skittle would work just as well.
