Not... intrinsically anyway. There are plenty of people with jobs where money manipulation is difficult and requires true work and expertise.

It feels like this argument hinges on whether the work is productive rather than difficult, though.
I also think investors can do tremendously valuable work.

Even if we are talking about a CEO here one bad financial decision could ruin the company. Anyone can invest in a company its not all these greedy fat cats, they also make calculated risks and don't just throw it down the drain.

Middlemen are necessary in economics for efficiency. If they weren’t necessary those jobs wouldn’t exist
