**TL;DR** - **Perpetuating this narrative does a disservice to those abused by Epstein.**
The New York City Medical examiner [concluded] (https://apnews.com/article/suicides-us-news-ap-top-news-bernard-madoff-new-york-city-a947e0d85d31496eb5bd9ff4994c9718) that Epstein's death was a suicide. This conclusion should be accepted. There has been some disagreement among the forensic pathologists, especially concerning the broken hyoid bone. Yet, the findings of the medical examiner were not made without due considerations. Indeed, the medical examiner stated that the conclusion was reached “after careful review of all investigative information, including complete autopsy findings.”
_However_, it is not wrong to investigate the circumstances surrounding Epstein's death. Having been placed on suicide watch, Epstein was placed in a special housing unit and was supposed to be checked on every 30 minutes. This did not happen. As a result, there needs to be some investigation into how Epstein's suicide went unnoticed by the guards whose job it was to guard him.
The [conspiracy theories] (https://apnews.com/article/jeffrey-epstein-suicides-donald-trump-us-news-ap-top-news-362e6ccf61014d7fbaeb35e1b5d793a9) that followed his death change the narrative of Epstein. His death is viewed in the light of him being murdered by high ranking officials out of fear that he had a damning information about them. However, the enduring narrative around Epstein should be the atrocities he committed and the number of people whose lives he ruined.

**I think the suspicious circumstances around Jeffrey Epstein’s death only begin to touch the surface.**
• The Jeffrey Epstein case is very odd, and I’d argue the sheer magnitude of this scandal is yet _(if ever)_ to be uncovered completely. I think there are discrepancies in the autopsy and confusion surrounding his supposed ‘suicide’.
• _The case for suicide_: It is no great surprise that one would think Epstein killed himself considering the charges he was facing and the horrendous nature of his crimes. As well as this, Epstein had previously attempted to kill himself - [although surveillance proving this is now allegedly missing]( https://www.npr.org/2020/01/09/795004811/video-outside-cell-during-jeffrey-epsteins-first-suicide-attempt-no-longer-exist) - which adds weight to the argument that he would try again.
• _The case for murder_: In the events leading up to his death, Epstein had been taken off suicide watch just a day before he was found dead, which is odd. In the autopsy, it was ruled that he had died by hanging and had consequently broken his neck. But what is particularly odd about this theory, is that it changed. Initially, the medical examiner Dr Kristin Roman, who conducted the autopsy, did not classify the death as a suicide and instead listed it as ‘pending’ - a few days later this was changed to suicide due to additional evidence; not that anyone knows what this evidence was. As well as this, the two guards in charge of watching his cell that night conveniently falsified reports and have since been charged with conspiracy to defraud the government.
• Ultimately, I believe Jeffrey Epstein _was_ probably murdered. Questions have been raised surrounding the involvement of other famous people in some awful crimes and I think some people in very high places wanted him quiet. Obviously this is just an opinion.
• The best source I have found for details surrounding the death of Epstein, is the report by [60 minutes]( https://www.cbsnews.com/news/did-jeffrey-epstein-kill-himself-60-minutes-investigates-2020-01-05/).***CONTENT WARNING: just be aware before viewing, that this article includes pictures from the autopsy which some may find disturbing.
