[2] Considering the likely slow recovery of the U.S. economy after the Covid-19 Pandemic, a green infrastructure plan can significantly stimulate the clean energy industry and empower economic growth. The infrastructure plan can ease the energy transition for fossil fuel workers. Currently, millions of workers in the U.S. still rely on fossil fuels for employment. A necessary energy transition could damage their livelihoods and hurt energy-dependent areas. An infrastructure stimulus, however, can soften the blow. The plan can allow different projects to provide jobs and economic activities. Research has suggested a particular benefit to low-income groups and people of color from these projects.
