**TL;DR** - **The album continues to young people long after its release.** Released in 1991, Nirvana's Nevermind still manages to sound like the future of rock music. With its raw, unfiltered sound and emotional lyrics, Nevermind brought Nirvana to mainstream attention and catapulted them to stardom as the leaders of the 'grunge' genre. Although lead singer Kurt Cobain hated the grunge moniker, his creation gave a disenfranchised section of society a voice. The music reflected their frustrations and emotions, something which it continues to do today. This is a more personal reaction to the album, but its success has been immense.
