**People hide behind biological reasonings to create injustices and perpetuate them.** In March 2016 North Carolina passed a law requiring people to use public toilets that correspond with the sex listed on their birth certificate, with the state's Republicans arguing the measure was necessary to protect women and children. This biological reasoning is an unjust policy. [Morganna Snow](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-36395646), a transgender woman, said in the same year that when she in a nightclub, she was asked to leave the women's toilets by a member of staff who told her she had to use the disabled toilet, even though the lock was broken. This is an unfair, unsafe and dehumanising policy that adds even more to inequalities for people already villainised by society. The reasoning behind this policy – that it is for the safety of women and children in toilets – is a policy hiding behind biology to justify a policy that clearly doesn’t care about the safety of people in bathrooms as forcing transgender people to use misaligned bathrooms is a far more dangerous prospect.
