Social media could be a way for politicians to reach their voters better; It would allow them to more effectively and organically reach their voter base and spread their message and values to potential voters across a range of demographics. Politicians should try to present themselves as ordinary citizens and should make it easy to contact them. They should use any method they can to connect with their community, and social media is a great way to build rapport. For individuals, it is also a great arrangement, since presently on social media it is much simpler to talk about all the issues we are fascinated by. We need to be up-to-date with the information we care around. And we need to know what the lawmakers are doing in our name. For better or for worse, individuals are using social media on an everyday basis. Which suggests it’s very likely individuals are opening one or more social apps at least once a day. This gives politicians a great opportunity to associate with their communities.

I agree, though I think that there are new platforms that are being underutilized. AOC's Among Us twitch stream was oddly inspiring and engaging. It made me realize how much potential live streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube go underused by todays older politicians

I think there's a strong case for Politicians *foregoing* social media when they get power, precisely because it allows them immediate unmediated access to a giant base of supporters. Power only works when it is held to account, and balanced between the various organs of state. Part of that holding to account is by-passed when politicians can talk directly to their base without journalism or the judiciary being able to check them.
