**TL;DR: Private schools create a two-tiered education system**
In the UK, it is no secret that the education system is flawed. The nationalisation of private schools would create equal opportunities for everyone, not just those who can afford ‘better quality’ education. The whole argument for the importance of private schools is that the education is inherently _better_ than state education. This is simply due to funding.
State schools have the potential to be just as good as private schools if they received the funding that they needed. The abolition of private schools would create a level playing field - giving _everyone_ the best chance of performing to their academic potential and giving poorer students the fundamental right to a better-quality education.
In an article from [The Oxford Student] (https://www.oxfordstudent.com/2019/10/15/private-schools-should-be-abolished/), it was found that around 40% of students at Oxford come from private schools, in comparison to the general population where just 7% of people are educated privately. I’d recommended giving this article a read, they make some fantastic points.
Private education creates an elitist system that extends beyond schooling years, into work life. A study from [The Sutton Trust] (https://www.suttontrust.com/our-research/elitist-britain-2019/) Trust found that two-fifths of the UK’s most elite were privately educated, and most of this demographic graduated from Oxford or Cambridge University. Looking at careers in politics alone, 52% of senior judges went through private school to the Oxbridge pipeline, in comparison to the shadow cabinet, where only 9% attended private school.
The private school system creates a system of inequality that is almost impossible to overcome for members of the public who did not receive the same level of education. Instead of continuing to endorse this system, we should instead focus on giving the same level of education to everyone to create equal opportunities.

Why should they? People make choices and when other people interfere and try to remove those choices just because they are jealous creates a very bad precedent.
Also those private schools are just that and the property is private too. So it has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else. Maybe those complaining should think about having less kids!
