Religion is NOT the ultimate truth. In fact, religion is so untrue that the stated opinion doesn't even make sense because we have to define what religion even is, and specify the religion in question before I can even understand, let alone respond to, the stated opinion. The truth isn't vague. The truth isn't difficult to define. And most importantly, the truth doesn't need ANY apologetics. What religion even roughly fits any of this criteria?

The religious beliefs themselves are not the problem, rather the organisations that lead the teaching of them.
