Here, it's easy to generalise based on binaries like black/white and think of people in terms of 'what' rather than 'who' they are. However, movements contain many different kinds of people. There are plenty of prominent figures in modern movements who face issues like racism every day and do a great job at campaigning for equality. Social justice movements are generally huge and varied and, undeniably, imperfect. But the issues at their core are important and decidedly not racist.
