Violence against whom? China? India?

Just like those Insulate Britain activists, the ring-leader of which admitted to living in an non-insulated house? There are always peaceful and moderate actions that can be taken instead of violence for the sake of global warming. This sort of thinking is just lapped up but trouble-makers who are looking for drama/trouble and are then given a 'righteous' cause.

I think most people can agree this just doesn't work. Regardless of whether you think it is "justified" is irrelevant. Violence on your behalf fuels your opposition. I think the better call would be to make it a business opportunity. The profit motive may be flawed in several cases, but it's self-sustaining and seeks its own expansion. Don't make fuel efficient cars "hippie cars" that you don't try to sell. Make performance hybrids that use electric motors to compensate for turbo lag. Make EVs the fastest cars on the planet. Then you don't have to "convince" people to do it "for the planet" Those who care will buy them because they're efficient. Those who don't care will buy them because they are fast. Or right now, most solar cells are produced in China. Solar was discovered and invented here in the US, yet much of our reluctance and willingness to offshore our labor has led to China dominating this market. Whether or not solar is viable to replace a whole grid is irrelevant. The demand is there, take advantage of it. But if climate change is relegated to a few people, and those people try to get their way with violence, they'll be dismissed as kooks. Use innovation instead. And for god's sake stop demonizing Nuclear. Carbon reduction is a more urgent need, and Nuclear is a great option. We need the research dollars to find better ways to deal with nuclear waste, pretty much the main disadvantage of nuclear.
