**TL;DR - watermelon is the best fruit due to its health benefits and how delicious watermelon is!** *Hydration* Watermelon is made up of 92% water and is incredibly fibrous. This means that it makes you feel fuller whilst also tasting deliciously sweet and contributing to your hydration levels. *Contains Nutrients and Beneficial Plant Compounds* One cup of watermelon contains [these nutrients](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/watermelon-health-benefits#TOC_TITLE_HDR_4): [Vitamin C](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/does-vitamin-c-help-with-colds) : 21% of the Reference Daily Intake (RDI) - Vitamin Cis an antioxidant that helps prevent cell damage and reduces cold severity and duration. Vitamin A: 18% of the RDI - contains carotenoids which are a class of plant compounds that includes alpha-carotene and beta-carotene, which your body converts to vitamin A. Potassium: 5% of the RDI Magnesium: 4% of the RDI Vitamins B1, B5 and B6: 3% of the RDI Cucurbitacin E - Cucurbitacin E is a plant compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. *Is good for skin and hair* Vitamin A and C are [great for hair and skin](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/watermelon-health-benefits#TOC_TITLE_HDR_4). Vitamin C helps your body make collagen, a protein that keeps your skin supple and your hair strong. Vitamin A is also important for healthy skin since it helps create and repair skin cells. Without enough [Vitamin A](https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/vitamin-a-deficiency-symptoms), your skin can look dry and flaky. *Can Improve Digestion* Watermelon contains, as previously stated, lots of water and fibre. These are both important for healthy digestion. Fibre provides a level of bulk for your stool whilst water can keep your digestion efficient. Therefore this promotes normal, healthy bowel movements. *Tastes delicious* Watermelon tastes incredibly sweet and delicious. Aside from the health benefits, there is nothing I love more than eating half a watermelon for dessert, on a hot day. It is refreshing, hydrating and unbelievably delicious.

**TL;DR: Watermelon is not the best fruit, instead, blueberries are.** Blueberries are versatile as they can be used in sweet treats, such as muffins or cake, or they can be chucked into breakfast pancakes, smoothies or granola bars. Blueberries can also just be simply eaten on their own. Blueberries are hugely varied in taste depending on their ripeness. Whilst smaller, underaged blueberries are slightly sour, large and developed ones are more sweet. [Health wise](https://www.mashed.com/69014/fruits-you-should-shouldnt-be-eating/), blueberries are incredibly beneficial. One cup of blueberries contains: - 4 grams of fibre - 15 grams of carbohydrates - 24% of your daily recommended vitamin C - 36% of the recommended dose of vitamin K Bodily effects include: - Improvement of memory - Anti-diabetic benefits - Reduction in muscle damage (after a rigorous workout) - Prevention of urinary tract infections Finally, due to their high fibre content, they'll fill you up without adding much to your caloric intake. Therefore, blueberries are the superior fruit due to their versatility, taste and health benefits.

**TL;DR: Watermelon is indisputably the best fruit** Watermelons aren't only the best melon: they're also the best fruit. The most obvious appeal is their nutritional value. It's high in both amino acids and antioxidants- in particular lypocene, which has been linked to bone and heart health with potential anti-inflammatory benefits.(1,2) This aside, the real clincher is- as always- taste. Mangos are sweet but too sweet. Bananas are filling, but too savoury. Apples are boring and the texture of pears is off-putting. All indisputable; impartial, universal truths. Watermelons are sweet; subtle, refreshing. They're also 92% water so there's an excellent two birds one stone quality that is woefully under-appreciated. They're delicious and pragmatic, which are the two key qualifiers of a great fruit. 1.https://www.livescience.com/46019-watermelon-nutrition.html 2.https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/lycopene-rich-tomatoes-linked-to-lower-stroke-risk-201210105400

**TL;DR – Watermelons are not the best fruit because avocados are the best fruit.** What makes avocados so good is their ability to be savory and sweet at the same time. I’ve used them to make both brownies and soup! They’re originally called alligator pears – I never thought that pears would be a clear comparison for them, but they definitely are! [Avocados](https://www.thealternativedaily.com/avocado-1-best-fruit-you-should-eat-each-day/) are extremely good for you. They are full of healthy fats that benefit your skin, hair, and digestion – they help you burn fat and reduce the risk of heart disease too. They are known to reduce inflammation and are considered a medicine of sorts. The fruit’s high potassium, magnesium, glutathione, and vitamin K, C, and E content regulates blood pressure, blood sugar, and protects against certain cancers. Avocado’s are even fun to pick and cut. I love to slice mine into little cubes and let the pieces fall over a salad. Also, try to grow an avocado plant with the seed. It won’t produce avocados in most climates, but it looks adorable!

**Watermelon tastes like nothing so it definitely is not the best fruit** I disagree because I think watermelon is pretty tasteless, it's too watery, and the texture is like wet kitchen roll! This may be because watermelons shipped to the UK are not eaten when they're fresh, as they would be in some hotter countries. However, either way the fruit I find to be the best is probably bananas because you can do so many things with them: make banana bread, put them on toast, put them on pancakes and make banana splits. Also bananas are not too sweet, they are not as expensive as berries or other fruits, and they can be given to babies because they are not too hard. All round I think they are the best fruit!

A good watermelon does not taste anything like water and paper, I guarantee you.
