It would be nice to eventually stop breeding pugs altogether, knowing how unhealthy their features can be.
Pugs are bred for their "squashed faces", among other things. But their squashed faces can cause health problems such as difficulty breathing and inability to cool down.
Ultimately, I think it makes a lot of sense to discontinue the selection for specific but potentially harmful features which we do just because they're aesthetically more pleasing/cuter to our eyes. It seems like it would be easy enough to make a commitment to the cessation of purposefully selecting for these harmful features.
