**Betraying your group is, in my opinion, not immediate grounds for determining that you did a "wrong".** - It's an important criteria for the group itself, certainly, but I do feel that most would like to consider cases where "betraying the group" is actually just expanding one's priorities to be more inclusive of others, especially if that group is moving along somewhat blindly to any kind of morally sketchy actions and principles. - So if someone prizes in-group loyalty above all else, and this is the reason they do not move against an actively anti-empathetic stance taken against others who are outside the group, I would personally consider that to be an overall negative. - Taking time to remember and have empathy towards those who are not in one's group seems to be an increasingly common moral "trend" of today: The world aspires to see its oneness, its interconnectedness, its common humanity - such as [when trying to solve great problems](https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20200228-how-our-emotions-could-help-save-the-world) of survival like climate change, etc. (At least, this is what a lot of people seem to be, or at least say they are, aiming for morally nowadays. Consider academic settings, trends on liberal policy, and so forth.)
