Women get attached. Men get attached. You get absolutely drowned in oxytocin, so you basically have to be taught or learn how to *not* be attached.

**There is a common misconception in society that men can have sex for fun without any long-term repercussions and that women are incapable of this and instead “fall in love” after having sex.**
While each situation is different and it completely depends on the person and what past sexual experiences they have gone through, women are just as capable to not get attached after sex as men are.
However, this social misconception has roots. Typically, women are more selective with who they sleep with compared to men and so, just based on probability, women are going to be more likely to get attached to a higher proportion of their body count than males.
Yet, this does not mean that for women sex = emotional attachment. In this sense, you can’t claim that “women” in general get attached after sex. There are multiple variables involved when getting emotionally attached, and gender is not necessarily one of these.
