I wouldn't recommend it because you never know who has what kind of disease, and who is simply just out to use you for sex and then toss you out with a bag of broken promises. But if you feel like you can handle yourself, I guess more power to you? Idk. The idea kind of makes me feel ill, personally. But to each their own. I *am* an advocate of "if you've got an advantage, use it," because life doesn't just hand advantages out for free (for most of us, anyway). So hey, do your thing, if you feel comfortable and safe doing so.

**When we think of using sex 'to get ahead', we are not necessarily talking about the act of sex. Sexual attraction is a natural, [if not central] (http://www.csun.edu/~vcpsy00h/students/sexual.htm), element of human relationships. And we live in a culture that [thrives on personality and likeability] (https://www.jstor.org/stable/2393201?seq=3#metadata_info_tab_contents). Working your way up in a given industry often depends more on who you know, etc., than your skillset. In this context, capitalising upon opportunities that arise because of sexual attraction should be acceptable.** - 21st-century western culture has arguably [moved beyond] (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19729373/) the conception of sex as an activity with a purely reproductive end. As something that is deeply embedded in human relationships, sexual dynamics will inevitably also occur in professional environments. - Think of how those who possess and demonstrate significant confidence and charisma are [more likely to do well] (https://www.researchgate.net/publication/318029583_Leadership_and_Self-Confidence) in their chosen industry. These are both appealing characteristics that straddle the line between amiability and sexual attractiveness. - Maybe the issue of the straightforward derision of 'sex to get ahead' is something of a sexist thought point. It brings to mind images of short skirts, red lipstick, provocative necklines, etc., and more than anything, a female subservience. It also [caricatures female sexuality] (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6707629/) as something lurid and base. The expression of sexuality that is 'confident and charismatic', meanwhile, is often [coded as male] (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4244004/). - The reality is that for both men and women, capitalising on sexual appeal is not all that different from capitalising on likeability/friendships. Both the sexuality and personality of the individual are always going to be present.

**People have used a lot worse to get ahead in life.** This isn’t to say that I advocate for the use of sex to get ahead in life, but people have done a lot worse to do so. Who are we to say one should not engage in sex to advantage themselves? As long as the sex is consensual from both parties, I can’t think of any laws that are being broken.
