9/11 · International Relations · Politics · War on TerrorThe West won the 'War on Terror'Against1 comment·Nov 5, 2021
The war on terror should have never happened. It was another imperialist war by the west. It was orchestrated for years beforehand by the deep state who needed a new boogie man after the USSR fell, they at first tried out Cuba and Yugoslavia (who they saw as two cold war holdouts) but neither gained popular support. Then they caught a lucky break after goading Bin Laden into attacking (the US funded him in the 70's if you remember). Now suddenly the "war on terror" is over now that the military industrial complex sees China as its next threat to its hegemony, despite the fact that Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and other nations are now in ruins because of the neocons.
Abortion · Eternals · Politics · WelfareAbortion should be available to women of all ages and backgroundsAgainst1 comment·Nov 5, 2021
Abortion is an example of liberalism run amok. Denial of science and ending the life of a baby in order to continue a partying lifestyle. Meanwhile the abortion corporations continue to massively profit off of societal degeneracy (just like every major corporation). Feminists will often say "it's my body", but the baby is not part of her body, it is a separate human being with its own set of DNA and its own organs. I've heard the argument that improving social welfare programs for struggling families will reduce abortion, even though I doubt it because it's often done for convenience, I do agree that poor and working class families should benefit from social programs and have a robust safety net, including guaranteed housing, free healthcare, and free education for all.
Communism · History · Politics Communism has never truly been triedAgainst1 comment·Nov 5, 2021
Communism has not only been tried but has proven a success in many places it was tried. There were some bumps in the road, a lot of mistakes made, but we can't ignore the fact that Russia under Lenin and Stalin industrialized and modernized within a few decades from a backwater feudal agrarian society to a modern industrial power. China has lifted nearly a billion people out of poverty and has modernized as well. Cuba continues to have the best healthcare system and the best education system in the western hemisphere despite the embargo by the US. Vietnam has the fastest growing economy in the world. The DPRK still persists despite the efforts by the west to destroy it. People in former Eastern Bloc countries overwhelmingly miss living under communism. While "shock therapy" liberalism destroyed most of Eastern Europe, Belarus averted this fate by keeping its Soviet-style planned economy. Russia is bringing some elements of that back, under Putin it has become a Nordic Model style social democracy. In fact, I can think of only two instances where communism failed, and it was because of the foolish men implementing it, Ne Win's Myanmar under the "Burmese Way To Socialism" was a disaster because he used superstition to guide national policy and he had no idea how to run an economy and Pol Pot's "Democratic Kampuchea". Luckily, Vietnam removed Pol Pot from power and established a more successful, sane version of communism.
