Your ‘good guy with a fun’ argument has been disproven time and time again. What about the thief’s gun ownership? Guns won’t be a deterrent if everyone has them. We can already see the effects of massive gun desensitization.

The ‘prettiest face’ ignores both racial and gendered factors, but in this hypothetical, wouldn’t a bad argument be fairly easy to tear apart? I understand that some liars are convincing, and some bad choices will be made, but people learn and grow all the time. Your argument discounts the better judgement humans have in favor of a more primal ‘prettiest face’ choice.

How do you differentiate between needs and luxuries?

Food, shelter, utilities… but we live in 2021. Internet and phone service, child care, education, clothing, and transportation are all necessities as well.

They’d have to do extensive research just to differentiate between what’s ‘necessary’ and what’s ‘luxury.’
