Acrobatics are part of the sport, which is already intense and expressive to boot. - Some people are glad for the inclusion in the Olympics; others are afraid that the culture of breakdancing will be made into something more high-brow than its natural state/where it came from. - If the traditional breakdancing forms are co-opted by inclusion in Olympic competition, I could see arguing to refrain from making it a part of the games. Especially if judges focus only on the difficulty of the moves for scoring, instead of accounting for originality and creativity and expression in the movements. - Gymnastics scoring incorporates its own elements of presentation and style, which might serve as a template for the breakdancing competition. Whether this mindful scoring is enough for the maintenance of the spirit of the sport---and whether, if it _isn't_, it's still okay to include in the Olympics as, then, just one version of a richer sport that can remain independent in other ways beyond the Olympics---is something time will have to tell.

‘Judged sports’ have no place in the Olympics. Athletic skill aside, the scoring is based on art form and is interpreted by opinion, rather than quantifiable result. Breakdancing is an art, albeit a physically demanding one, but it is not a sport, and the Olympics haven’t included art in quite some time,
