While I believe that some things should be censored from children, adults who should know that films and magazines are for entertainment should be allowed to see many different things from different points of view. While these things should be rated as such, there is always different stories and topics that people should experience no matter how morally wrong they may seem. Just because something is wrong does not mean it does not happen and as long as the viewer knows that it is wrong then there is no problem. There are many morally wrong things that people face in their lives, and seeing a character go through it in movies can help them identify with the movie more and may make them feel seen.
Censorship also brings into question what is morally wrong. Everyone has different opinions on what is wrong. While I may believe one thing is wrong, another person may see this as normal or even good.
It is interesting that 82% of people voted that they disagreed with or felt ambivalent about the prompt—transcultural and transhistorical realities overwhelmingly suggest the opposite.
Cancel culture is pervasive in the modern West and has many supporters. It is one of the cornerstones of cancel culture, if not the foundation, that censorship, in general, is necessary both to promote and maintain public morality.
