**Being in a good mood can make even the worst situations seem good.** - The world could be falling apart around you, but you could still be happy. The world filters in through your head. How you interpret situations, people and relationships all depends on your head. If you're in a bad mood, or a bad head space, a good situation in your life can seem bad. However if you're in a good headspace, even the worst situations can seem good. - We have more effect on our own lives than we realise. Our own positivities and negatives can effect our lives drastically. Happiness is 100% tied to these moods.

**What's happening in your head creates the lens through which you observe and understand the world. Feelings like happiness are reactions, often to things going on in our lives. But nothing is interpreted neutrally, and it all begins with our mental state.** - [This report] (https://www.caba.org.uk/help-and-guides/information/happiness-depends-mental-health) looked at the best ways of achieving happiness and discovered that the things which have the greatest bearing on how happy we generally feel are "our social relationships and our mental and physical health." I think this is self-perpetuating - if you're coming from a place where you have a healthy, positive mindset, you are going to be much more likely to form meaningful relationships & make choices that will serve you in the future. - In the same report, it was found that "having a partner is as good for you as being made unemployed is bad for you" and that "the strongest factor in predicting a happy adult life is not children's qualifications but their emotional health". In other words - if we are operating from a [good mental state] (https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/your-mental-health/about-mental-health/what-good-mental-health), we will most likely be able to deal with setbacks in our lives without letting them significantly affect our overall happiness.
