The theory of ‘morality as cooperation’ (MAC) argues that morality is best understood as a collection of biological and cultural solutions to the problems of cooperation recurrent in human social life. MAC draws on evolutionary game theory to argue that, because there are many types of cooperation, there will be many types of morality. These include: family values, group loyalty, reciprocity, heroism, deference, fairness and property rights. Food can be replaced. Human life cannot.

Food is a human necessity that shouldn’t be a privilege to have, everyone should have access to food regardless of their income (etc).

So many people saying human life is worth more than food and people should be entitled to food. Issue isnt the 1 act, if only the people starving stole just enough food to survive everything would be fine. But anarchy starts when people steal food regardless of if they cant afford to pay for it and/or take more than they need. The concept of a transaction is worth a lot more than a single human life

Stealing is never right, nor is it morally acceptable. Becoming resourceful and using your ability to get food in a legal way (especially here in the US) should be very reasonable. To allow others to steal because they’re entitled to it opens the door to other issues. What else are they entitled too? Why not continue to take what you didn’t work for? I regard this question in same light as homeless in the US. It is a choice. With all the programs and people who genuinely wish to help, there is no reason to lower yourself to becoming a thief.
