**Mediterranean diet has been named the healthiest diet three years in a row by consumer groups.**
- The mediterranean diet has been named the healthiest diet [three years](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjmpv_Mx7zyAhXMOcAKHZyjAbAQFnoECBAQAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.webmd.com%2Fdiet%2Fnews%2F20200102%2Fmediterranean-diet-repeats-as-best-overall-of-2020&usg=AOvVaw37KAGCNthTyMbTzacSEhBP )in a row. It focuses on fruit, vegetables and whole grains (so the good stuff). This makes this diet incredibly healthy and easy to follow. It doesn’t include your classic junk food or any refined sugars, meaning that it’s excellent for people suffering with diabetes and other health problems. It is notoriously good for you, and has been proven by multiple surveys and diet investigations.

**[No one diet is the 'healthiest', everyone's body is different and different foods work for them](https://www.businessinsider.com/what-is-the-best-diet-no-such-thing-2019-6?r=US&IR=T), people should eat what makes their body feel good. Although the Mediterranean diet is very healthy**
- No one diet is the 'healthiest', [everyone's body is different and different foods make them feel good/ work for them](https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/wellness/everyone-is-unique-and-so-are-diet-needs/2014/03/11/e6b92f84-a3e6-11e3-a5fa-55f0c77bf39c_story.html) eg. [Mediterranean diet features quite a lot of nuts](https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/what-is-a-mediterranean-diet/#:~:text=The%20Mediterranean%20diet%20varies%20by,of%20meat%20and%20dairy%20foods.) and some people are allergic to them
- Food has benefits and worth beyond just its nutritional value, it can bring [people together](https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2017-03-16-social-eating-connects-communities), [help to make feel people connected to different cultures](https://www.wathi.org/food-identity-of-culture-and-religion-researchgate/#:~:text=Food%20is%20often%20used%20as,cultural%20backgrounds%20eat%20different%20foods.&text=It%20helps%20us%20to%20discover,beliefs%20about%20ourselves%20and%20others.), [promotes social cohesion](https://medium.com/world-food-programme-insight/social-cohesion-when-food-gives-the-taste-of-bonding-e1c748e13296), comfort and have positive mental impact on people, social health and mental health should also be taken into consideration
- A Mediterranean diet is based around foods/plants that naturally/easily grow (and historically) in Mediterranean countries, we should eat more of what's [in season and is suited to our climates for our health and the planets](https://www.eatingwell.com/article/290798/how-your-food-choices-can-help-fight-climate-change/)
- Although, the [Mediterranean diet is very healthy](https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-well/what-is-a-mediterranean-diet/#:~:text=But%20in%20general%2C%20it%27s%20high,health%2C%20including%20a%20healthier%20heart.) (and also very tasty!) and the principals should be incorporated more into everyone's diet (eg.. whole foods and veg)
- A Variety of different 'diets' and cuisines and types of food is best!
