Put simply, Star Wars has much higher highs and much lower lows. And personally, I find it very much worth sitting through those lows in order to experience the highs. I'm not sure I'd say the same for Star Trek.

**It is simply down to opinion, but Star Wars feels more accessible than Star trek** - It largely depends what you have been bought up with as Star Trek and Star Wars have become important [multi-generational franchises](https://whyy.org/articles/star-wars-endure-generations/) many people have fond childhood memories of them and therefore are likely to be more drawn to the one they were bought up with due to nostalgia - Both have a huge impact on [general pop culture](https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/05/star-wars-40th-anniversary) - Star Wars feels more accessible to fans that aren't huge sci-fi people, this is partly due to its huge commercial feeling and cinematography but it is less niche and appeals to all as the plot is centred around family drama, something we can all relate to.

Both can be good. Both can be bad. I enjoy _parts_ of both franchises. In terms of recent content: Star Trek and Star Wars films have both been _shockingly_ bad. Star Trek series also massively flopped, with the exception of _Strange New Worlds_, which was excellent. Star Wars series have included flops (e.g. Boba Fett) and successes (e.g. The Mandalorian). Star Trek is supposed to be a more realistic vision of the future. It's science fiction. Star Wars is science fantasy—like an old tale, but told in space. So there's no real comparison.
