We're meat robots, but don't let that distract you from how incredibly complex, sophisticated, and interesting you are. You don't need to appeal to the concept of a soul to be worth something.

**There is no way to prove the existence of the incorporeal soul, but the idea of a soul can be a positive guiding force in life.**
* I think the idea of a soul has been overinflated. Souls are often referred to as ["the immaterial essence and totality of who you are at a core level”](https://lonerwolf.com/what-is-a-soul/) and they give us ["the mental abilities of a living being”](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soul). But, based on these definitions, the idea of a soul can be boiled down to evolution and personality.
* From an evolutionary standpoint, humans are very complex and we definitely develop unique personalities, traits, and habits that make us individuals. The soul, however, is a spiritual concept. There is no way to extract one’s “soul” as if it were their appendix or gall bladder. A soul is incorporeal and therefore impossible to definitively locate and identify in the human body.
* We cannot prove the true existence of a soul. Rather, the concept of a soul can be a positive force in people’s lives that drives them to pursue their passions. In other words, the soul can be a real spiritual concept, but not a real object.

**Our bodies may be complex by they cannot explain certain elements of our personalities.**
- Each person is more than just a mortal body. We are more than just a pair of legs and a torso and a head. We have traits, and a personality.
- These traits are such things as, kindness, humour, and memories that have shaped our lives and whom we are today. So, my point here is that we are more than just a body. These traits are not effected by our bodies, they are not “tethered” to our bodies. Instead, these traits define who you are as a person.
- As these traits are not tethered to your body, but yet still exist, we must have souls.
