Just based off of the title I would have to disagree. Microsoft as a company can't really be evil because it is not a person or entity with any agency. The actions of the company could be interpreted as evil I think.
I think what might make people say a mega corporation is evil has more to do with the shortcomings of capitalism (maximizing profit by commodifying labor) than it would the moral orientation or interpretation of any one company.
Microsoft became evil the moment it dropped DOS support. Do you know how hard it is to set up The Oregon Trail in DOSBox?
... Well, it isn't that hard. But it is an unnecessarily tedious extra 10 or so steps.
And let's not forget the legendary Windows ME fiasco. That operating system was clearly the spawn of Satan.
... But seriously, nerd-speak aside, I totally agree with you. You can't judge the entire company by the actions of a handful of nitwits. But I guess it's just easier to assign blame to a single "entity" (i.e. Microsoft as a whole) than it is to figure out who those specific nitwits are and admonish them.
Bethesda, though. Thoroughly evil.
I also disagree. Thanks to Microsoft we have many forms of technology we wouldn't have without them. Like Microsoft office and the Xbox. I know many people would be extremely upset without theirs.
