**TL;DR: If 'whiteness' symbolises the dominant culture, Jews are still an ethnic minority** Despite broad levels of acceptance and success across many Western societies, Jews are still seen as different, and are still subject to discrimination. In Britain, there is a growing tendency particularly from the Left (see David Baddiel's [Jews Don't Count](https://harpercollins.co.uk/products/jews-dont-count-david-baddiel)), to treat anti-semitism as a 'lesser' prejudice on the premise that Jews as a whole have been successful in British society.

Jews are diverse due to the refugees who fled to places like Europe. Most Jews in the US are largely white-passing since most fled from Europe and therefore would be grouped with white people with regard to certain social issues such as police brutality, redlining, racial income disparity, and many/most others. Most in the US have German or Polish surnames as well, meaning things like name-based resume discrimination aren't especially strong-either. The social issues the Jewish people face are generally more point-to-point rather than broad, systemic issues. It is a couple of specific groups of people who specifically seek out and target them. I can't comment on issues regarding the broader world, as it includes Israel/Palestine relations which I am not versed in, as well as how other countries may view their Jewish citizens.

Jewdaism is a religion. Blacks, whites and anything in-between can be Jewish. As for ethnically Jewish, no they're Middle-Eastern. Closer to Arabic than White.

Judaism is a religion or an ethnicity. They can be white or non-white as those are racial categories.

If the question was about Semitic people, the answer would be they are not. But being jewish is not a race, it is a religion. And that kinda disproves the "chosen people". How can yo be chosen if your religion is not race-bound?

Judaism started in the Middle East, not in Europe, so in ancient times, historically jews were most certainly not white. That said, Judaism is a religion, not a race of people. Most of the 6 million Jews exterminated by the Nazi party in Germany, Poland, and surrounding countries were white. Anyone can be Jewish, I can, you can, and everyone you meet can. It’s a religion, and anyone can join it, just like any other religion. There are Black, White, Latino, Asian, and multi-racial Jews. To say that Jews are a race of people is just ignorant. If you were a Jew, living in the Middle East 2000 years ago, and your twin brother lived next door, but was an atheist, would you consider him of a different race because of his religious beliefs? Of course not, that’s just silly.

Most people here seem to be talking about the religion, however there is also a race of people who originate from Judea who are white. So the question is somewhat vague.
