Democrats were on a mission to sink Kavanaugh’s nomination as soon as Trump announced his choice for Kennedy’s replacement. All 10 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee immediately pledged to vote no.
The sexual assault allegations are part of the Democrat’s smear campaign to prevent Kavanaugh’s nomination. Senator Dianne Feinstein received the letter approximately two months before Ford’s claims were revealed publicly. Feinstein deliberately waited until after the final hearing until she released the information. She wanted to do the maximum damage, thereby causing a delay in the nomination process. The Democrats want to delay the vote until after the November midterm elections. This gives them the chance to win back the House and Senate, which they can use to win the vote to reject Kavanaugh’s nomination. It is all a ploy to prompt an FBI investigation and delay the nomination indefinitely.
Dianne Feinstein did not delay the release of the information. In Ford’s original letter to the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Ford requested confidentially. Feinstein could not publicly reveal Ford’s name with the allegations. Details about the assault emerged in September, however, initially Ford wanted to remain anonymous. She reportedly did so out of fear of the disruption it would have on her life. However, when Republicans began attacking the credibility of the report, given the anonymous source, she decided to publicly reveal her identity.
The Democrats deliberately withheld the release of Ford’s allegations until after the last hearing. That way they could delay the nomination process until after the November midterms.
